Produced in: Medulla and adrenal glands (more hormonal than central neurotransmitter)
Brain functions (limited):

• Medulla (C1 neurons): Blood pressure regulation

• Minor CNS role, but enhances vigilance via peripheral feedback to brainstem

• Major role in sympathetic “fight-or-flight” system
